Connie Bremer

Connie Fae Bremer was born December 23, 1930, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Fearne M. and Berniece “Bunnie” (Satchell) Collins. Connie grew up in Chase County and graduated from Chase County High School in 1948.

On May 21, 1948, Connie married Byron H. Bremer. They welcomed son Kip in 1955 and the addition of daughter, Kandi completed their family in 1960.The couple moved to the Bremer family farm and later moved into the main house in 1955. The family farm is where they spent their lives and raised their two children. Connie made her life working on the farm and helping Byron. She cooked the meals during harvest and made sure the hired hands were well fed, while delivering it to the field.

Connie was a member of the Chase County Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to play bridge and she played with a weekly group all her life. She also enjoyed quilting, making each granddaughter a graduation quilt.

Connie passed away early Tuesday morning, November 29th, 2016, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial. She was 85 years of age.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents: Fearne and Berniece Collins; brother: Chuck Collins and sister-in-law: Tonie; nephew, Kirk Collins; and her high school sweetheart, husband of 60 years, Byron.

Survivors include:
Son: Kip Bremer and wife, Jan, of Imperial, NE.
Daughter: Kandi Bremer and husband, Cliff Ostgaard, of Lincoln, NE.
4 Grandchildren: LaCosta Fishler and husband Jeremy of Kearney, NE, Beth Bremer of Custer, SD, Lisa Mintling and husband Ryan of Imperial, NE, and Shelby Nesbitt of Lincoln, NE.
4 Great-Grandchildren: Jaylyn and Tora Fishler, Brandon and Rylie Mintling.
Brother: Jack Collins and wife, JoAnn, of Omaha, NE.
A host of nieces and nephews

Graveside inurnment services will be held Saturday afternoon, December 3rd, 2016, 1:00 P.M.at the Rural Chase Cemetery, rural Imperial, NE, with Pastor Melody Newman officiating.

Memorials have been established to the Chase County Senior Center, the Chase County Hospital Auxiliary, and the Rainbow Promise Pre-School.
