Kerry Steven Hunt was born September 30, 1955, in Ewa Territory, Honolulu, Hawaii, at Tripler Army Hospital to Elry and Doris (Howard) Hunt. As a child, Steve would claim Benkelman as his hometown and attended Benkelman schools. Steve spent much of his life in Fort Collins, CO, until he returned to Benkelman in 2009.
Steve obtained licensing for General Contracting and Uniform and International building codes. This allowed Steve to hold various occupations and eventually own and operate his own general contracting business.
Steve was an artisan of handcrafted wooden river dory boats. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to flyfish. Steve loved spending quality time with family and loved his children, grandchildren, and siblings. He loved playing music, and he was extremely fond of animals.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Hunt.
He is survived by his son, Chris Hunt of Victoria, KS, and grandchildren, Madison and Allie Hunt. His daughter, Audra (Scott) Rohn of Longmont, CO, and grandchildren Kaylee and Wyatt Rohn. Former wives, Jill Hunt of Victoria, KS, and Saundra Hunt of Longmont, CO. His sister, Shelley Christiansen of St. Francis, KS, and nieces and nephews, Amy Christensen of Imperial, NE, and Travis Christensen of Omaha, NE.
