Richard Lee (Rick) Moses was born on May 18, 1947, at Colby, Kansas, to Emery B. and Leta F. (Woerpel) Moses. Rick graduated from Colby High School in 1965. After serving in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, Rick attended Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas and The North Central Kansas Technical School in Beloit, Kansas. Rick married Linda Berls on January 2, 1970 in Selden, Kansas. Rick and Linda resided in Colby, Beloit, Towanda, and El Dorado, Kansas before settling in Imperial, Nebraska in 1977. Rick spent his entire career in the two-way radio communications field, including his service in the Army Signal Corps. After operating an Imperial-based location of a Kansas communications company for several years; Rick, along with Linda, purchased the Imperial shop and established Prairie States Communications, Inc. in 1985. Rick and Linda continued in that business until it was sold in 2008. Under the new ownership, Rick continued working until the time of his death. In his spare time, Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and riding motorcycles with his friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Rick was a member of the ABATE motorcycle club and enjoyed many years of service on the Imperial Public Library Board. Rick passed away Sunday afternoon, March 14, 2010, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial.He was 62 years of age. Rick was proceeded in death by a son, Chase Thomas Moses; and his father, Emery Moses. Survivors include: mother, Leta Moses of Colby, Ks; wife, Linda of rural Imperial, Ne.; Daughter, Deb and husband, Mark Hilt of rural St. Francis, Ks.; Son, Jason and wife Ashlee of Oakley, Ks.; Four Grandsons, Wyatt Hilt, Seth Hilt, Jake Moses, and Bo Moses; Brothers, Mike and wife Cindy of rural Colby, Ks., Boyce and wife Pam of Hutchinson, Ks., Ken and wife Michelle of Atwood, Ks.; and sister, Cathy and husband, Paul Breeden of rural Quinter, Ks.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Rick Moses will be held Wednesday Morning, March 17, 2010, 10:30 A.M,(MT) at the United Methodist Church of Imperial, with Pastor Kay Alnor and Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon, March 16th, 2010,2:00 P.M - 6:00 P.M.(MT) at the funeral home in Imperial.
