Allan Nordhausen
Allan LeRoy Nordhausen was born March 12, 1942, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Dietrich Fritz and Ora Minnie Sophia (Denker) Nordhausen. As a young man, Allan attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Parochial School and Wauneta Public Schools. He was inducted into the US Army where he served for a short time because of an illness of his father.
On September 29, 1963, Allan, (Cotton as he was known), married Judith Arlene Binderup at the United Methodist Church in McCook, Nebraska. The couple moved to the family farm south of Wauneta, Nebraska, where they raised their family. Cotton was a lifetime farmer/rancher and he and Judi lived on the family farm until they retired from farming in 2001 and moved to the Frenchman Creek east of Wauneta.
Cotton was a member of 4-H, the Wauneta Jaycees and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Wauneta. He enjoyed team roping, fishing with his children and grandchildren, reading westerns, shooting the bull with anyone he met (he didn’t know a stranger), and anything to do with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
