Allene Norman Allene Mae Norman was born October 13, 1919 to Vernon W. and Bernice M. (Covert) Eckerd, at Phillips County, Colorado in the Pleasant Valley Community east of Holyoke, Colorado. At the age of eight, Allene and her five year old brother, Arlyn, lost their mother, Bernice. They continued to be raised by their father, Vernon, with the help of his parents, David and Eva Eckerd who also lived in the Pleasant Valley Community. Allene attended country grade school and graduated from Phillips County High School in Holyoke, Colorado in 1937.
On January 5, 1938, Allene was united in marriage to Norval Norman in Holyoke, CO. and the couple settled in Imperial, Nebraska, where they made their home. After retiring from her position as a bookkeeper at Chase County Hospital, she and her husband, Norval, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome across the United States and especially to the state of Texas. Allene was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother and always enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and crocheting. Allene was an active member of the Imperial United Methodist Church and attained 50 year membership status in the Order of Eastern Star in 2007.
Allene passed away Monday evening, July 20th, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Cozad, NE. She was 95 years of age. Allene was preceded in death by her husband, Norval in 2003 and her brother, Arlyn, in 2000.

9 Grandchildren: Jammie May, Jerry Wood, Joni Smith, Matthew Jones, Kimberly Anderson, Marklyn Jones, Micah Jones, Donivan Norman, and Michaela Weedin
13 Great-Grandchildren: Dorian, Nicholas, Jacob, Austin, Joshua, Caden, Jackson, Ella, Bennett, Carter, Molly, Meghan, and Elizabeth
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday morning, August 5th, 2015, 11:00 A.M. (MT) at the United Methodist Church of Imperial, with Lay-Minister Melody Newman officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE.
Memorials are suggested as Donor’s Choice in Allene’s Memory.
