Anna Oldaker
Anna Lucille Staudenmaier Oldaker was born July 3, 1921, to Charlie and Josephine Geiser Staudenmaier; she passed away June 10, 2012, in Wauneta, Nebraska.
Anna grew up on the family ranch north of Harrison, attending rural school near their home.
On August 28, 1943, at Junction City, Kansas, Anna was united in marriage to Gayle Norman Oldaker. At that time Gayle was stationed in the army at Ft. Riley, Kansas. While living there, Anna worked for several officers’ wives.
Gayle and Anna bought their ranch in Sioux County, Nebraska. Anna was constantly by Gayle’s side helping to make their ranch a success story.
On January 14, 1947, Charles Royal was born; on March 22, 1948, Edward Norman arrived; and on March 13, 1950 William (Bill) Floyd arrived to make their family complete.
Anna was a very devoted wife and mother. Ask any of her family and they will tell you she made some of the best fried chicken and homemade ice cream in Sioux County.
Survivors include: Son: Charles and wife Letha of Imperial, Nebraska. Son: Edward and wife Robin of rural Harrison, Nebraska. Son: Bill and wife Linda of rural Sioux County, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Allen Oldaker of Trenton, Nebraska. Tammy Helser and husband Brian of rural Champion, Nebraska. Annette Oldaker of Harrison, Nebraska Janet Oetken and husband Greg of rural Marsland, Nebraska. Amy Swisher and husband Barry of Lusk, Wyoming. Melvin Oldaker and wife Lindsey of Burwell, Nebraska. Cathy Whetham and husband Shan of rural Sioux County, Nebraska. Great-grandchildren: Sara Ann, Trace, Cody, Landen, Logen, Bryce, Bailey, Brady, Donovan, Taylor, Tanner and Teige. Brother: James Staudenmaier and wife Linda of Harrison, Nebraska. Sister-in-law: Shirley Oldaker of Vernal, Utah. Sister-in-law: Phyllis Johnson of Longmont, Colorado. Numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Gayle, three brothers: Robert, Jr., and George Staudenmaier, and her parents Charlie and Josephine.
Graveside funeral services for Anna will be held at 11:00 a.m. (MT) on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Harrison Cemetery in Harrison, Nebraska with Pastor Matt Parker officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday Morniong Starting at 9:00 A.M until 10:45 A.M. at the Harrison Bible Church, Harrison, NE
Memorials may be made to the Harrison Volunteer Fire Department or the Heritage of Wauneta Nursing Home.
