Arabell Terwilliger
Arabell Minerva Terwilliger was born June 10, 1913, in Northeast Chase County, to Loren and Blanche (Thompson) Drumm. As a young girl she attended Country School at District # 61. Arabell married Oscar Warren Terwilliger on June 26, 1932, in Imperial and to this union two children were born: Gene and Verna. The couple settled on a farm near Grant, NE. They spent 17 years on the Cottroll Ranch, and worked and farmed in the area for most of their lives. Arabell and Warren retired in January of 1974 and moved into Imperial, where they made their home. Arabell passed away early Friday morning, April 22, 2011 at a care facility in Sidney, Nebraska. She was 97 years of age.
Arabell had many interests including quilting, crocheting and sewing for her family. She loved to bake angel food cakes along with keeping a garden.
Arabell was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Warren in 1997, Sisters: Edith Studler, Lucille Awmiller, Lillian(Bill) Johnson, Twilla (Sally) Zeuge, and Freda Johnson. Granddaughter: Laura Terwilliger.
Survivors Include: Daughter: Verna Bairn of Oshkosh, NE Son: Gene Terwilliger and wife, Shirley, of Fayette, N.C. 4 Grandchildren: Joe Bairn, Wanda Weisz and husband, Gary, Allen Terwilliger and wife, Teresa, Danielle Reynolds and husband, Joe. 3 Great-Grandchildren: Jacob, Matthew, and Ryan Sisters: Velma Powell of Boise, ID Lorraine Stenson, of Imperial, NE
Funeral Services for Arabell Terwilliger will be held Tuesday morning, April 26, 2011, 10:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church of Imperial, with Pastor Fred Andersen officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, April 21, 2011, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00P.M. at the funeral home in Imperial, NE
Memorials have been established to the St. Jude’s Children’s’ Hospital and the Mayo Clinic.
