Arlene Reiman

Arlene May (Felt) Reiman was born May 1st, 1924 on the family farm south of Champion, Nebraska, to James and Cora (Mader) Felt. As a young girl she attended country school and finished her education at Culbertson High School, Culbertson, Nebraska.

Arlene married Gilbert Charles Reiman on January 30, 1945, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Benkelman, Nebraska. To this union five children were born: Sharon, Ronald, Bonnie, Joseph, and Barbara. The couple settled on a farm North of Benkelman where they lived for ten years, before making their home in Benkelman. In 2009, Arlene moved to the Willow Ridge Retirement Center in McCook, Nebraska. She returned to Benkelman in 2015 and resided at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home until present.

Arlene was employed at the Dundy County Hospital for twenty-six years as a cook. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Benkelman and very active in the St. Joseph’s Alter Society. Arlene enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, and visiting with friends. She also especially loved to spend time and care for her grandchildren. After retiring, she continued working with social services and the Benkelman Housing Authority.

Arlene passed away Saturday morning, February 11, 2017, at the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman. Arlene was 92 years of age.

Daughter; Bonnie Straub and husband, Dave, of St. Francis, KS
Son: Joseph Reiman and friend, Ardith Tracy, of Benkelman, NE
Daughter: Barbara Pinkerton and husband, Dennis, of Benkelman, NE
11 Grandchildren
28 Great-Grandchildren
7 Great-great-Grandchildren

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Gilbert, Son; Ronald, Daughter; Sharon, Sister; Lily Fish, Brother; Glenn Felt, and nephew; Roger Felt

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday Morning, February 16th, 2017, 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Benkelman, NE, with Fr. Lothar Gilde Celebrating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, NE

A Rosary will be recited Thursday morning, February 16, 2017, 10:00 A.M. (Mountain Time) before Mass by Fr. Lothar Gilde.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon, February 15th, 2016, 2:00P.M. -6:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Benkelman, NE

Memorials have been established to the Emeritas at Willow Ridge Retirement Center of McCook, and the Sarah Ann Hester Memorial Home of Benkelman.
