BETTIE KNAPP
Bettie Ruth Knapp was born December 27, 1930, at rural Haigler, Nebraska, to William C. and Rosalie B. (Pugh) Perry. As a youngster, Bettie attended rural country grade school, and went on to graduate from Parks Nebraska High School in 1948.
Bettie married Tommy Doyle Knapp on July 27, 1952, in North Platte, Nebraska. The couple first resided in Hawaii and then in many other locations throughout Doyle’s twenty–six year navel career. Bettie and Doyle returned to Southwest Nebraska in 1977, and made their home in Imperial.
Bettie had a long career with Safeway Grocery before moving back to Imperial. Bettie was very active member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie #3742 of Imperial, holding many different offices including president. She was very well known state wide for assisting Doyle in his efforts in serving Nebraska State Eagle Positions. She was a tireless work force every year in the Chase County Eagles Fair Booth. Bettie was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post # 4688 of Imperial. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers which was very evident around their home.
Bettie passed away early Sunday morning, September 2nd, 2018, at the Sutherland Care Center, Sutherland, Nebraska. She was 87 years of age.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Doyle, brothers; Carl, Everett, Robert, Arthur, Elton, Dale, Charles, and James. Sister; Phyllis Harmon
Funeral Services will be held Friday morning, September 7th, 2018, 11:00 A.M. (Mountain Time) at Liewer Funeral Home, Imperial, NE.
Interment will follow at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell Nebraska.
Visitation will be held before services on Friday, September 7th, 2018, starting at 9:00 A.M. (Mountain Time) at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Imperial Eagles Aerie # 3472, and the VFW Post # 4688, both of Imperial, NE
