Betty Terryberry

Betty Arlene Terryberry was born October 26, 1928, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Esther (Jaeger) and John Splitt. Betty grew up in Imperial where she attended grade school and high school, graduating from Chase County High School with the class of 1947.

On December 2, 1948, Betty married Dan (Bud) Terryberry at her parents’ home in Imperial. Bud and Betty first settled on a farm 12 miles south of Imperial and in 1957, they relocated to the Terryberry Farmstead west of Imperial. Betty was an avid homemaker raising 4 children: Steve, Tom, Vicky and Pam. She also worked hard helping Bud on the family farm. In 1964 Bud and Betty moved into Imperial where they lived on 12th Street for 31 years. When Bud and Betty retired in1995, they built a new home on Kramer Street.

Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Imperial Eagles Club Auxiliary and many card clubs. Betty enjoyed playing bridge and all card games, including games of chance; watching Cornhusker football and “Dancing With The Stars”. She loved roasting ears, Mac’s Drive-In onion rings and Arby’s sandwiches. Betty especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; and traveling and dancing with Bud.
