Betty Weiss
Betty Parnell (Carey) Weiss was born October 10th, 1927, at Palisade, Nebraska, to Kenneth A. and Opal R. (Armstrong) Carey. As a young lady, Betty moved with her parents to Imperial, where she grew up and attended school.
Betty married Reubon John Weiss on February 19, 1944, in Oberlin, Kansas and to this union two children were born: Peggy and John. Betty and Reubon made their home in Imperial for many years.
Betty was employed by the local grocery stores in Imperial. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial.
Betty passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, NE. Betty was 89 years of age.
Survivors Include:
Daughter: Peg Norman and Husband, Lee, of Prescott, AZ
Son: John Weiss of Imperial, NE
5 Grandchildren: Tiffani Norman, Heidi (Joel) Johnson, Dirk (Wenny) Weiss, Dean (Jan) Weiss, Dain (Vicki) Weiss
8 Great-Grandchildren: Ben and Nathan Johnson, David, Jacob, Makayla, Ryan, Taylor, and Morgan Weiss
Graveside inurnment services will be held Wednesday Morning, January 11, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE, with Pastor David Kahle officiating.
No visitation, Betty chose cremation.
A memorial has been established in Betty’s memory.
