Carol Jean Kuecker
Carol Jean Kuecker passed away at her home on November 13, 2022, in Phoenix, Arizona. Carol was born in Algona, Iowa, on February 22, 1959, to Kermit and Connie Kuecker. She was the second of their five daughters. The family lived on a farm near Algona until Carol was seven, at which time they moved to Columbus, Nebraska. The family later moved to Schuyler and then to Imperial, Nebraska, in 1974. Carol graduated from Chase County High School in Imperial in 1977 and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1982. After graduating, Carol lived in Omaha, Nebraska; Portland, Oregon; and, finally, Phoenix, Arizona.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her four sisters: Kathy Asay, Rochester, MN; Rebecca (Jim) Bish, Sun City, AZ; Marcia Hunter, Clive, IA; and Jacquelyn (Ray) Bailey, Chicago, IL. She is also survived by her three nieces: Lauren, Hannah, and Leah; her four nephews: Jared, Matt, Nick, and Aaron; as well as four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she indulged in any way she could. She also had many long-time close friends whom she cherished.
Carol was gifted in many ways. She was a talented pianist. She shared her skills at the sewing machine generously, and she was proud of the expertise she developed in collectibles, particularly dolls.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. MST, with a flower service just prior at 10:00 am, at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial, Nebraska with Pastor Scott Adle officiating. Interment following at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.
A memorial, in Carol's memory, has been suggested to Sheepgate Women's Program- A division of Adult and Teen Challenge of the Midlands. Donations can be mailed to: Sheepgate Women's Campus 25478 S 23rd Rd Beatrice, NE 68310 in memory of Carol Jean Kuecker.
