Carolyn Anderson
Carolyn Kay Roschewski Anderson was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in April 2011 and passed away at home on September 26, 2011 at the age of 71. Carolyn was born on December 25, 1939 at Imperial, Nebraska to William J. and Hilda M. (Fortkamp) Roschewski.
Carolyn spent her entire life in the Wauneta Community. Carolyn grew up on the South Divide and was baptized at St Paul’s Lutheran Church on January 28, 1940; and was confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church on March 29, 1953. Carolyn’s confirmation verse: “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant on my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” (Is. 54:10) Carolyn attended St Paul’s Parochial School for seven years and in the spring of 1953 Carolyn and her family moved to a farm east of Wauneta and she finished her last year of grade school in the Wauneta School District. Carolyn attended Wauneta High School graduating with the Class of 1958.
On October 19, 1958, Carolyn was united in marriage to Ted Anderson. Ted and Carolyn have spent almost 53 years of marriage together. To this union three children were born: Cleve of Wauneta, Todd of Grand Island and Frank of Hamlet.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Roschewski, and nephew Anthony Roschewski.
Survivors Include: Husband: Ted, of Wauneta, NE Sons: Cleve and wife Brenda of Wauneta, NE Todd and wife Cindy of Grand Island, NE Frank of Hamlet, NE 5 Grandchildren: Grandson Shane and wife Lindsay of Hickman, NE Grandson Shelby and wife Katie of McCook, NE Grandson Noah of Grand Island, NE Granddaughter Tiffany and husband Bob Ochsner of St Francis, KS Granddaughter Symphony of Grand Island, NE 3 Great-Grandchildren: Great-Granddaughter Kiley Anderson, Great-Grandson Parker Anderson Great-Granddaughter Leighton Anderson Sister: Elaine Jones and husband Walter of Skiatook, OK Brother: Dannny Roschewski and wife Sharla of Imperial, NE Sister-In-Law: Elaine Roschewski of Palisade, NE Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and many many friends.
Carolyn had a very stong faith in God. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and play Phase 10 Cards. Carolyn took command of the hog farm while her husband Ted was at his job. She loved to go to Redeemer Lutheran Church and listen to KNGN Radio.
Funeral Services for Carolyn Anderson will be Friday Morning, September 30th, 2011, 10:30 A.M. (MT) at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta, with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, NE.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon,September 29, 2011, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Wauneta.
A memorial has been established to the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta and KNGN Radio.
