Catherine Reiman
Catherine Darlene Reiman was born January 30th, 1947, at Benkelman, Nebraska to Charlie and Mary (Lehn) Reiman. As a young girl, Catherine attended District 18 Country School. She then went on and attended Benkelman High School graduating in 1965.
Catherine gained employment with the Dundy County Hospital after graduation, working in the dietary department until her health began failing in the late 1980’s. Benkelman was her home until 2007, when she moved to Palmer, Nebraska, to be near family.
Catherine was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Benkelman. She enjoyed spending time with her family, scrapbooking, collecting Precious Moments figurines, and attending garage sales. She organized many family reunions and spent many hours compiling information for a Reiman family genealogy book. Catherine enjoyed her many pets that she had throughout her life and never turned away a stray.
Catherine passed away early Saturday morning, September 23rd, 2017, at the Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was 70 years of age.
Catherine is survived by her Brothers: Charles Reiman and wife, Shirley, of Wray, CO., Jim Reiman and wife, Benita, of Evans, CO,. John Reiman of Salina, KS. Sisters: Evelyn Vig of Casper WY, Patricia Hays of Palmer, NE., Sisters-In-Law: Phyllis Reiman of Braintree Essex, England, Evelyn Reiman of Benkelman, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Gilbert (Arlene) Reiman, Bernard (Bessie) Reiman, Wilbur Reiman, Eugene Reiman, Robert Reiman, and Brothers-In-Law: Robert Hays, Byron Bowers and Raymond Vig.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday morning, September 30th, 2017, 10:30 A.M. (MT) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Benkelman, NE, with Father Matthew Eickhoff celebrating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, Nebraska.
A Rosary will be recited before Mass on Saturday morning, September 30th, 2017, 10:00 A.M. (MT) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Benkelman, NE
Visitation will be held before services on Saturday morning, September 30th, 2017, starting at 9:00 A.M. (MT) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Benkelman, NE
