Charles "Chuck" Lynn Welshans

Charles “Chuck” Lynn Welshans of Benkelman, NE passed away on February 18, 2025 the age of 82 after a short illness surrounded by his wife, Jeneane and his daughter Amy.

He was born in Timnath, CO to Harvey Welshans and Doris Hatten Welshans. He attended Chadron State College, where he made many friends. He had several sales positions throughout his life, including cars and insurance. He loved grilling, golf, the Gameshow Channel and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jeneane, his brother Dave Welshans (Debbie), and his three children and four stepchildren: Jeff Welshans (Nicole), Tracy Welshans Elmshaeuser (Scott), Amy Welshans Kriz (Tim), Todd Phelps (Sarah), Jay Phelps (Kris), Mike Phelps, Darrell Phelps (Christina) as well as 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Chuck will be remembered for his golf game, spot-on advice to his children and his love of music. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (MT) on Friday, February 28th at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman with Pastor Jim Gleason officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman designated to the new sound system.
