Daniel George Conery was born to George B. and Lauretta (Sevigney) Conery on September 9, 1940 in Saugus, Massachusetts. He graduated from Essex Aggie High School. After high school, Dan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on April 1, 1958 and served until March 16, 1962 when he was honorably discharges as a Lance Corporal. Upon completion of his term of service in the Corps, Dan furthered his education by receiving Bachelor’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1975 and Civil Engineering from the University of Houston in 1980.
Dan first made Houston, Texas his home and later moved to Speedwell, Tennessee where he married Terril Krutsinger on August 4, 2000. Dan was employed by the Bechtel Engineering Corporation where he served as the lead underground piping engineer. After his retirement, the couple purchased a fifth-wheel and traveled the country before finally retiring to Benkelman, Nebraska in 2004.
Dan was a member of the American Legion, AAA Club, the Association of Professional Engineers, the National Rifle Association, Veteran’s Affairs and the American Legion Post # 65 in Benkelman. In addition to his memberships he loved to camp, fish and travel. He took flying lessons and accumulated many hours in the air.
Daniel passed away Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2017 at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. He was 76 years of age.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Lauretta.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. (MT), Monday morning, February 13, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church in Benkelman with Pastor Dave Logsdon officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at Benkelman Cemetery with full Military Honors.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, February 12, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. (MT) at Trinity Baptist Church in Benkelman.
A memorial has been established in Dan’s memory.
