David Robert Wareham, passed away on November 16, 2024 in Imperial, Nebraska, at the age of 94. David was Born on April 12, 1930, in Cozad, Nebraska to Samuel and Carrie (Boyd) Wareham. Dave grew up in Cozad attending school and graduated from Cozad High School class of 1948. After graduation, David attended college in Kearney.
In 1949, David met his lifelong dance partner, Bonnie Mae Steele, in Kearney at the 1733 Ballroom. The couple later married in Casper, Wyoming in 1950.
David began his career in the plumbing industry at Kearney Plumbing as an apprentice in 1951. Once he obtained his journeyman license, they moved to Portland, Oregon where he worked with his cousins building houses. However, life took David back to Nebraska for a few more years. Finally, settled in Newberg, OR in 1959. David opened up his own plumbing business D&K Plumbing in 1964. Throughout his career he worked with and served on the apprenticeship board to train and educate future plumbers. David retired in 2000 at the age of 70. David then returned to Nebraska after loving his wife, Bonnie.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, David was a family man at heart. Together, he and Bonnie created a loving home filled with joy and laughter. David had a special bond with each of his children, loving them unconditionally, enjoying memorable moments with his daughter Lesa, who had a passion for horses. He also supported his son Kurt in his music endeavors, taking great pride in his achievements.
David's interests extended into the outdoors; he loved fishing and hunting especially when he could join his son, Kurt. Later in life David would take up the sport of golf. He really enjoyed playing a round of golf with his good friends. When he could no longer play golf, he began to play pool at the Community Center in Cozad. He especially enjoyed the tournaments.
David is survived by his son, Kurt Wareham, daughter Janea (Dennis) Green; sister-in-law Rosie Molzahn; 10 grandchildren, Chad (Julie) Wareham, Sadie Rosenbaum, Alaina Wareham, Emma Wareham, Lindsay (David) Hughbank, Alicia Pifer, Philip Mandt, Amie Greenlaw, Jesse Brown, and Sarah Brown; and 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dave was preceded in death by the love of his life and dance partner of over 49 years, Bonnie; his parents; his daughters, Lesa Mandt and Sally Brown.
Private family services will be held in Oregon at a later date
