Donna Bartels
Donna Maye Kunnemann Bartels was born January 15, 1940, in Imperial Nebraska, to Clarence J. and Maye P. (Weiss) Kunnemann. Donna graduated from Chase County High School in 1957 and then went on to attend the Lincoln School of Commerce, graduating in 1960.
On July 29, 1962, Donna married Wayne LeRoy Bartels at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Imperial, Nebraska. Donna and Wayne first settled in Imperial and later moved to a farm on the South Divide.
Donna was an Avon representative for 45-plus years. She also was employed at the ASCS Office, Country at Heart Store and the Imperial Inn. Donna was a member of the Crazy Quilters and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, cooking and gardening.
Donna passed away Wednesday June 21, 2017, at the Southlake Village Care Center in Lincoln, NE. She was 77 years of age.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and son, Carl.
Survivors Include:
Husband: Wayne of Enders, NE
Daughter: Carla McKinney and husband, Greg, of Imperial, NE
4 Grandchildren: Mike McKinney, Emily and Jose Zarate, Sarah McKinney and Larissa Tomlinson.
Brother: Paul Kunnemann and wife, Lorna, of Imperial, NE
Funeral Services for Donna will be held Tuesday morning, June 27th, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at the St Paul’s Lutheran Church, rural Wauneta, NE, with Pastor Keith Wellman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wauneta, NE
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, June 26th, 2017, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Imperial, NE.
A memorial has been established in Donna’s memory.
