Donnie Dean Fuehrer

June 11, 1927 — April 8, 2012

Donnie Fuehrer
Donnie Dean Fuehrer was born to Jacob and Ina (Browning) Fuehrer on June 11, 1927, in Imperial, Nebraska. Don attended school at District 56 Rural School and then went on to high school at Chase County High School.
Don was united in marriage to Pauline Ione Harvey on June 23, 1953, in Champion, Nebraska. The couple made Imperial home; they lived in a house on East 5th Street until they bought their home at 332 West 9th Street where they lived until 2009 when Don moved to the Imperial Manor Nursing Home.
At approximately the age of 18, Don lived in Denver where he attended Bible School. While in Denver he also worked at J.C. Penney. Just across the street was the historic Daniels and Fisher Clock Tower, which made a big impression on him. Years later, Don worked at Frenchman Valley Coop as a tank wagon driver until he and Pauline purchased the service station at the corner of 5th and Broadway from Jim Harper. The couple owned and operated Don’s Farm Service at that location for many years.
Don was confirmed and joined the Evangelical United Brethren Church on December 3, 1944. He was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, earning a 50 year pin. Don was skilled at woodworking, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and a good game with friends and family; especially cards and horseshoes.
Don passed away Sunday evening, April 8, 2012 at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home with family by his side. He was 84 years of age.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, parents Jake and Ina Fuehrer; sister Velma and husband, Henry Margheim; brother Leroy and wife, Alta Fuehrer; and a brother-in-law Harley Hart.
Left to carry on Don’s memories are a sister Thena Mae Hart of Loveland Colorado; nephew Doug and wife, Gloria Margheim of Aurora, Colorado; nephew Terry and wife, Mary Jane Margheim of Dallas, Georgia; niece Diana Kline of Lakewood, Colorado; nephew Michael and wife, Jan Margheim of Colorado Springs, Colorado; niece Joni and husband, John Parsons of Loveland, Colorado; niece Lori and husband, Jerry Rowley of Imperial, Nebraska; nephew Dan Fuehrer of Imperial, Nebraska; niece Stephanie and husband, Steve Milton of Johnstown, Colorado; nephew David and wife, Jeanette Neliton of Salem, Oregon; many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
