Dorene Mae Purdy

Dorene Mae Purdy was born to Willard and Inez Mary Kate (Williams) Mathews in Benkelman, Nebraska on June 19, 1942. She attended school in Chase County, Nebraska and received her GED.

On June 28, 1959 she married Gary Leon Purdy in McCook. Nebraska. The couple made a home in Wauneta, Nebraska where they raised their four children: Rick, Craig, Randy and Kristie until they moved to Imperial, Nebraska in 1975. Dorene enjoyed spending time with her family and took extra joy from the holidays.

Dorene passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017 at St. John’s Nursing Facility in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 74 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sister, Carolyn Edwards; brother, Loyal Mathews and granddaughter, Jessica Purdy.

Daughter, Kristie Loudermilk and husband, Ed
Grandchildren: Randall (Paige) Purdy, Derek (Amber) Loudermilk, Krystal Loudermilk, Tasha Loudermilk, Kellen Purdy, Rachael Purdy, Gary Purdy, Anjolina Purdy, Abrieanna Purdy, Jake Fields and Nate Fields.
Great-grandchildren: Urijah and Gracie Loudermilk

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. (MT), Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Imperial Berean Church. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.

Visitation will be Friday evening, January 20, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (MT) at the funeral home in Imperial.

A memorial has been established in Dorene’s memory.
