Doris Lorraine (Avery) Hunt was born May 8, 1927, near Phillipsburg, Kansas, to Bertha C. (Hecht) and Phillip “Glen” Avery. As a youngster, Doris grew up and attended school in Kansas, south of Naponee, NE.
On June 18, 1945, Doris married Junior Hunt and to this union four children were born: Roger, Sharon, Patricia and Debra. The family first lived in Naponee, NE, Norton County, KS, Frontier County north of McCook, NE, Republican City, NE, and eventually settled in Imperial in 1969. Doris was employed at Jack’s Place as a cook over 20 years until her retirement.
Doris was an excellent cook and enjoyed doing embroidery work. Doris was the best Mom ever and she loved being with her children and grandchildren. Doris enjoyed gardening and watching her beautiful flowers bloom. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all her family.
Doris passed away at her home in Imperial on Thursday, January 13, 2022. She was 94 years of age.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Junior; sister Helen; brother Marvin; grandson Michael Glaser; sons-in-law Walt Hyle and Tedd Allen.

Son: Roger Hunt of Imperial, NE.
Daughters: Sharon Allen of Riverton, WY, Patricia Darchuk of Johnstown, CO, and Debra Detter and husband Dan of Loveland, CO.
Grandchildren: Scott Hunt, Michelle (Hunt) Hurd, Sherry (Allen) Lewis, Owen Allen, Edward Darchuk, Eric Rizzo, and Shanon Detter.
Great-grandchildren: Aaron, Payge, Adrianna, Kassandra, Tiffany, Kelsey, Carlie, Shelbie, Zena, and Tyrzza.
Great-great grandchildren: Zoe, Archi and Kal.
Brother: Phillip Avery.
Funeral Services for Doris will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, 2:00 p.m. (MT), at Liewer Funeral Home, Imperial, with Pastor Matt Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE
Visitation will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, 10:00 A.M. until service time at Liewer Funeral Home.
A memorial, in Doris’ memory, has been suggested to the Chase County Community Senior Center, Imperial, NE
