Doris Kier
Doris Ellen Kier was born November 14th, 1940, at McCook, Nebraska, to Myrle and Ruby (Kummer) Stevens. As a young girl she grew up in McCook graduating from McCook High School.
Doris married Rueben League and to this union three children were born, Steven, Kevin, and Kory. The couple made their home in Stratton, Nebraska, where Doris was employed at several different locations including, The Miller Company, and the Flame. Doris furthered her education and became a Certified Nursing Assistant, working in many of the surrounding care facilities.
Doris was a member of the Christian Union Church of Stratton. She enjoyed attending auctions and garage sales. Doris loved to assist anyone in need and volunteered anytime she could at church and local senior center. Her special love was her grandchildren, and attending all of their activities. Doris preceded Rueben in death and later married Jerry Kier. She continued to make Stratton her home until present.
Doris passed away Monday evening, March 27, 2017, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, Nebraska. She was 76 years of age.

Sister: Janice Carney of Bakersfield, CA
Brothers: Jimmy Stevens and wife, Bea, of Bakersfield, CA
Ronnie Stevens and special friend, Gwen,of Phoenix, AZ
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Rueben and Jerry, son; Steven, brothers; Jerry, Carl, and Marvin, sisters; Darlene Sauvage and Patty Jones
Funeral Services will be held Monday morning, April 3, 2017, 10:30 A.M. at the Christian Union Church of Stratton, NE , with Pastor Kevin Fink officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Stratton, NE
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, April 2, 2017, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the Christian Union Church of Stratton.
A memorial has been established in Doris’ memory.
