Edward V. “Eddie” Sis was born May 19, 1929, in a farmhouse in Rawlins County, Kansas, to Louis and Margaret “Maggie” (Boyle) Sis. Eddie graduated from Stratton High School in 1947 and attended Regis College in Denver, Colorado.
Eddie was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in December of 1952 and returned to southwest Nebraska.
On February 12, 1955, Eddie married Susan Dillon at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Stratton, Nebraska, until 2005 when they relocated to Imperial. Eddie was employed by the United States Postal Service, first as Post Master for 5 years; and then as Rural Mail Carrier for 25 years. He was a member of the Stratton Fire Department, Stratton Rescue Squad EMT, Stratton Cemetery Board, Stratton Rural Fire District, St. Joseph Catholic Church of Stratton (Committee Member), and St. Patrick Catholic Church of Imperial. Eddie was a life member of the V.F.W, American Legion 50 years – Past Commander and former Scout Master.
Eddie passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, in Englewood, Colorado. He was 87 years of age.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Daniel; brother Robert and sister-in-law Bette Sis; sister Peggy Ann Sis; infant granddaughter Crystal Elliott; and great-granddaughter Destiny Rose Henne.

10 Grandchildren: (Scott) Sarah Henne, Nicole Sis, Katie Svitak, (Leah) Jennifer Newcomb, Dustin Elliott, Paige Kaehey, Dillon Elliott, Hannah Elliott, (Maggie) Becca Fort and Erin Fort.

A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time), Monday, January 2, 2017, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial with Father Bernard Lorenz celebrating. Inurnment will follow at 3:30 P.M. (Central Time) at Rose Hill Cemetery, Stratton, Nebraska
A Rosary will be recited prior to services at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, beginning at 9:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) with Father Lorenz leading.
No visitation; cremation was chosen.
A memorial has been established in Edward’s Name.
