ERIKA BROWN
Erika Shawn Brown (Fry, as she was known to her family and friends), 47, of Benkelman Nebraska passed suddenly on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Erika was born a true bicentennial baby in Leoti, Kansas, on 7/6/ 1976 at 7:06 pm and weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz.
Erika was one of the kindest, most humble people one could ever have the blessing of knowing. Even after years apart, she had a way of making you feel like your friendship had never missed a beat. Erika’s sense of humor was contagious, and being with her, you always knew you’d be having fun. She loved going to the lake, spending time with her family, and she was an amazing mother. She loved her dragons, butterflies, and just about any animal she encountered. Erika graduated from Dundy County High School and spent her life helping others as a CNA at the Hester Memorial Home, and most recently, Dundy County Hospital. She left us, her family and friends, a legacy of love that will live on in every one of our hearts.
Erika is survived by her loving husband, Robert Clark, her children, Hunter, Aspen and Jerri, her parents, Darrell and Kathy Brown, her sister, Michell Hammack, her brother, Gary Monks, nieces, and nephews Kaitlyn Harmon (Ethan), Shawn Elliott, Sierra Wilson (Brandon), Caitlyn Clark, Jacob Clark, and Matthew Merklin, Aaron Vanderford, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held Monday, September 18, 2023, 3:00 P.M. (MT) at the Benkelman Memorial Chapel, Benkelman, NE, with Rev. Jim Gleason officiating.
A memorial, in Erika’s memory, has been suggested to the McCook Humane Society, 100 Sout5h Street, McCook, NE 69001
