Esther Eleanore Wiese was born on January 11, 1930 at home on the family farm in Pierce County, Nebraska to Elmer J. and Bessie R. (Ahlman) Dommer. She attended school at Pierce County Country School, Zion Lutheran Parochial School (Pierce, NE) and graduated from Pierce High School in 1948.
Esther was united in marriage to Lyle Wiese at her Parents’ Home on January 17, 1949. The couple made homes in Pierce, NE, Norfolk, NE and Benkelman, NE; where they lived from 1965 to present. Esther’s main job was as a mother and homemaker, but she also had various part-time jobs. She opened her own greenhouse, The Garden Center, for several years until cancer forced her to close. She was a member of the Garden Club and served as President, several quilting clubs, and the Lutheran ladies organization. Esther enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, ceramics, camping and traveling.
Esther Wiese passed away early Friday morning, June 23, 2017 at the Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman. She was 87 years of age.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Trudy Wiese, granddaughter Christa, brother Melvin Dommer and great granddaughter, Madison.

Sister-in-law, Anita Dommer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin
21 grandchildren & 38 great-grandchildren
Funeral Services for will be 10:00 A.M. (MT), Wednesday morning, June 28, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating. Interment will follow services in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, Nebraska.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon, June 27, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. (MT) at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman.
A Memorial has been established to the Benkelman Cemetery.
