Florence Mabel Crown was born to Russell and Iola Blanch (Christensen) McFadden on July 17, 1925 in Kirwin, Kansas. She grew up in the Kirwin community and graduated from Kirwin High School. She was united in marriage to Thaine Crown on January 1, 1946 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. To this union, five children were born. They settled first in Beattie, Kansas and eventually made a home in Imperial, Nebraska.
Florence worked as a nurse’s aide for 35 years at the Chase County Hospital and also helped Thaine with the grounds keeping at the Imperial Country Club. She was a proud and active member of the VFW Post #4688 Auxiliary in Imperial. Florence enjoyed golf, cooking, gardening, traveling, needlework, reading, crossword puzzles and she loved her pets, especially Miss Willie.
Florence passed away Sunday morning, August 12, 2018 at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial. She was 93 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thaine.

Son, Thaine Crown Jr. and wife, Cha Suk of Chandler, Arizona
Son, Jim Crown and wife, Sharon of Brady, Nebraska
Daughter, Judy Richardson and husband, Larry of Garden City, Kansas
Daughter, Jennifer Smith and husband, Steve of Eastsound, Washington
Sister-in-law, Wilma McDowell of Grand Rapids, Michigan
9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. (MT), Thursday morning, August 16, 2018 at the Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Imperial with Pastor Alex Gebert and Mr. Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow services in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.
No visitation; it was Florence’s wish for the casket to remain closed before and during services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Chase County Community Hospital Foundation.
