Floyd Wilcox
Floyd Wilcox was born October 21, 1916, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Fred and Clara (Samuel) Wilcox. As a young man he graduated form Raceland, Kentucky High School, and served in WWII as a US Navy Seabee. After his discharge in 1945, he married Edrae Mae Hoff and they made their home in Wauneta, NE. The couple welcomed an adopted son, Rick, to the family and Floyd joined the Nelson Burham Construction Company, where he worked for many years. He later worked as an independent contractor, handyman, and an employee for the Village of Wauneta.
Floyd remarried on November 14, 1959, to Dorothy Ruth Mayden, in Kearney, NE. The couple welcomed two more children into his life, Ruth and Rodger. They made their home in Wauneta and Floyd enjoyed woodworking, playing bingo, and shooting pool. He also loved dancing and singing. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Posts of Wauneta. Dorothy passed away in 1988, and Floyd moved in 2001, to the Regent Park Nursing Home, Holyoke, CO., where he had made his home until present.
Floyd passed away Friday night, June 29, 2012, at the Melissa Memorial Hospital, Holyoke, Colorado. Floyd was 95 years of age.

Son: Rodger Mayden and Wife, Gayla, of Holyoke, CO. 6 Grandchildren: Michelle Jestice and Husband, Scott, of Monument, CO Trebor Alvord of Colorado Springs, CO. Misty Enterline of Holyoke, CO. Schad Mayden and wife, Melissa, of Holyoke, CO. Kelly and Brandon Wilcox, of McCook, NE. 11 Great Grandchildren Brother-In-Law: Ray LaMoglia of San Tee, Ca. Niece: Candy Lynch and Husband, Randy, and their two children of Kentucky
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Wives: Eddie and Dorothy, Brothers: Sam and Ralph, Sisters; Dorothea and Wanda. Memorial services will, be held Wednesday, July 18th, 2:00 P.M. at the Gerk Funeral Home in Holyoke, CO. Graveside Inurnment services will follow Thursday Morning, 10:00 A.M. at the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, NE. Rick Heldenbrand will be officiating.
