Frances Pearl (Martin) Moranville was born June 18, 1919 to Ernest and Eve Martin on a farm south of Lamar, Nebraska. France was the fifth of seven children.
Frances attended Mt. Tabor Dist. 42 grade school and then started high school in Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado where she spent 2 years before coming home and finishing High School at Chase County in 1938. Francis went on to get her teaching degree from Nebr. State Teachers College in Chadron, Nebraska.
After graduating high school, Frances married Lloyd Banks. In 1941 Frances and Lloyd gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Karen Faye Banks.
Though there marriage didn’t last Fran’s love for teaching did. She went on to teach English and music, grades 6th - 8th in Colorado, Iowa, Wyoming and Nebraska for over 15 years. Fran’s true passion was music, she loved to sing and play the accordion, organ, and piano.
Fran was an ambitious, energetic, single working mother for many years. In 1965 Fran met Charles Moranville who was also a teacher. In 1966 they got married in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Fran and Charles continued teaching until his death in 1968.
In 1968 Frances moved back home to Lamar, Nebraska to help her mother, Eve Martin with the home place.
France was raised to love Jesus and believed in God and all his creations. She was a member of the Seven day Adventist church of Lamar and Holyoke where she enjoyed playing the organ for the congregation. Fran's other hobbies included reading and studying her Bible and spending time with her 3 Grandchildren. Frances and her Mother Eva could be seen checking on their cattle, windmill, fences and crops for many years. She was a true pioneer woman.
Frances passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial, Nebraska. She was 98 years old, except for the last few months, Frances was able to spend her life in the comfort of her home in Lamar with her daughter Karen Teply.
Frances is preceded in death by her late daughter Roselee Banks, her parents Eva and Ernest Martin, husband Charles Moranville, sisters Loueva Makinster, Fern Mattews, Dortha Lyons, brothers Joe and Benny Martin.
Survivors include Brother Ernest Martin Jr., daughter Karen Teply of Imperial, NE, Grandchildren R.D. Teply of Queens Creek, AZ, Jena Gavora of Fairbanks, AK, Jippi Milner and Husband Robert of Champion NE. Great Grandchildren include Cali and Nicolas Gavora of Fairbanks AK, Canyon Teply of Bozeman MO, Trey, Destyn, Kadyn and Jerzee Milner of Champion, NE and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held December 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. (MT) at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial with Mike Liewer officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn cemetery in Rural Lamar, Nebraska.
Visitation will be prior to services the morning of services at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Greg Smith, Trey Milner, Destyn Milner, Bob Milner and Tanner Martin.
