Gerald Max McGarr, 85 passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Eternal Springs in Gilbert, AZ. 

Max was born November 29, 1938. He was the son of Roy Odell McGarr and Stella May McRary McGarr. 

Max was a graduate of Statesville High School class of 1957. Max attended the university of Kentucky Bowling Green. Max worked for IBM Corporative. Max joined Lockheed Martin representing them as vice president of internation sales in Denver, Colorado. He then worked for Eli Lilly Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Max married Tonda (Claney) Mann on February 12, 1984, at the Manor House at Ken-Caryl Ranch in Littleton, CO. 

Upon Max’s retirement they returned to Imperial Nebraska. Max loved golf and had many outings to surrounding communities with his golfing buddies. 

Max passed away with courage, knowing for certain that he will be with us forever, cherished by his family and friends. Max loved living life and lived it to the fullest. 

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Wayne McGarr and Gene Odell McGarr. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tonda; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Leach (Craig) of Atlanta, Georgia, Angela Almand (Terry) of Statesville, North Carolina. Grandchildren, Brian Fair, Stephanie Fair, Clay Almand, and Brandon Almand. Stepson, Russell Mann and four great grandchildren. 

A Book Signing will be held on Monday, December 9, with family receiving friends from 4:00 PM- 6:00 P.M. (MT) at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Statesville, North Carolina.
