Goldie O'Neil
Goldie Dottie O’Neil, an amazing, pretty lady who lived in Nebraska, was born Sept. 12, 1923, on a farm near Lisco, Neb. She passed away Aug. 23, 2014, in Merino, Colo., at the home of her daughter Charlene (O’Neil) Archer. She lived in Wauneta and Imperial for the last 31 years. She was preceded in death by her husband John W. O’Neil and longtime friend and companion Floyd Carman; parents Elder and Armeda (Griffiths) Wright; brother Edward Wright; sister Vera Kepler; two sons Mark C. O’Neil and Robert H. Cooper. She is survived by sister Ruth Glassmaker of Bridgeport, Neb; son Conn O’Neil (Lori) of Ogallala, Neb.; daughters Dixie Ryan of Bellevue, Neb., Linda Zinn (Johnny) of Roswell, N.M., Charlene Archer (Gregg) of Merino, Colo., Corliss Maldonado Ferguson (Sonny) of Palmdale, Calif., Candy Jenks of Newbury Park, Calif., Pam O’Neil and Karen Christenson of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter-in-law Lucille Cooper of Lisco, Neb.; 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial with Father Bernard Lorenz officiating. A Rosary will be recited prior to services starting at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow services at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial. There will be no visitation, Goldie chose cremation.
