Gordon Albert Tropf was born September 30th, 1919, at the family home in Madrid, Nebraska. He grew up and attended grade school in Madrid. Gordon entered the U.S. Army on October 10, 1941, serving in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was discharged on December 7, 1945. He married Dona Irene Hogsett on October 14th, 1951 in Wauneta, and the couple made their home in Chase County and most of those years in Champion, NE.
Gordon was self-employed most of his life which included custom haying. He was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ of Imperial, NE and was baptized on October 10, 2004. He enjoyed fishing and raising grey hounds. Gordon was well known for his large garden and the produce that he raised.
Gordon passed away early Friday morning, August 14th, 2015, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial. He was 95 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Freddy (Gordon Irving Tropf), brothers; Duke, Ike, Hank and Bernie, sister; Emma Gruell
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, August 19th, 2015, 10:00 A.M. (MT) at the Champion Community Building, Champion, NE, with Rev. Mike Middick and Spencer Parker officiating. Interment will followed at the Green Lawn Cemetery, Lamar, NE
Visitation was held Tuesday afternoon, August 18th, 2015 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Imperial.
A memorial has been established to the Broadway Church of Christ of Imperial, or the Champion Community Building Fund
