Harold Marvel Brunswick, son of Francis and Merle Brunswick was born October 11, 1926, at Benkelman NE. He passed from this life on October 16, 2018, at the Sarah Ann Hester Home in Benkelman NE at the age of 92.
Harold was the oldest of seven children. Harold attended Max School through the 10th grade. Harold enjoyed ranching and farming on the Wine Glass Ranch and later the Brunswick Ranch. Throughout his lifetime he played for dances in the community. He enjoyed gathering around the piano with family and friends singing and playing his guitar, fiddle, mandolin and mouth harp. He was an honest man and a handshake was better than a signed contract. His love was the land that he grew his crops on and taking care of his cattle.
He served on the Benkelman Hospital Board, Haigler Coop, Wray Coop, NRD and the Benkelman School Board.
On May 28th, 1950 at Haigler, NE he was united in marriage to Betty Hanshaw. To this union, three children were born. One son Dale (Wanda) Brunswick of Farmersville, Texas, two daughters Deb (Randy) Bartlett of Imperial NE, Dianna (Michael) Chambers of Holbrook NE.
He is preceded to death by his parents, his first wife, Betty (September 2, 1980), second wife, Harriet (October 26, 2003), brothers Ernest, Virgil and brother-in-law Harold Lloyd McCarville.
He is survived by his wife Eva of thirteen years; his three children and their spouses; brothers and sisters: Richard Brunswick of Arizona, Verlyn (Deloris) Brunswick of Colorado, Yvonne Hager of Hastings, NE, Phyllis McCarville of McCook, NE; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. (MT), Saturday afternoon, October 20th, 2018 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Haigler, NE with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating. Interment will follow services in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, NE.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon, October 19th, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Benkelman.
