Harry "Keith" Jaeger

Harry Keith Jaeger

Harry Keith Jaeger was born October 17, 1925, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Lola M. (Nedrow) and Samuel M. Jaeger. Keith grew up and attended grade school in Imperial and graduated from Chase County High School with the class of 1943. In September of 1944, Keith enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the Asian Theater during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946. Keith was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals for his actions in combat.
Keith returned home from his service in the Army, and married Marcheta Ann Pribbeno on April 4, 1946 in McDonald, KS. He continued farming and also became a U.S. rural mail carrier for many years.

Keith was a member of the Imperial VFW Andrew Kinder Post #4688 and the Imperial Eagles Club. Keith enjoyed fishing and dancing. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Keith passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home. He was 97 years of age.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Lola and Sam Jaeger; wife, Marcheta; son, Randy; brother, Gary; sister, Janece Cady; in-laws, Charles Westley and Alma Pribbeno; and special friend, Vivian Todd.

Survivors include:
Son: Kurt Jaeger and wife Susan of Imperial, NE.
Grandson: Shawn Jaeger and fiancée Lynne West of Imperial, NE.
Grandson: Dru Jaeger and wife Misty of Imperial, NE.
Great grandchildren:
Gage Jaeger and wife Rebekah of Kearney, NE.
Rachael Jaeger and significant other Greg of Kiowa, CO.
Morgan Jaeger of Lone Tree, CO.
Megan Griffith and husband Jacob of Kearney, NE.
Carson Jaeger and wife Taylor of Kearney, NE.
Step Great grandchildren:
Madison West of Lincoln, NE.
Caleb West of North Platte, NE.
Great-great grandchildren: Zane, Greyah, Emmett, Adelaide and Clayton.

Funeral services for Keith will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. (MT), at Crossroads Wesleyan Church, Imperial, Nebraska, with Pastor Brian Boisselle officiating. Inurnment (With Full Military Honors) will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, Nebraska.

Following Keith’s wishes cremation was chosen with no visitation.

A memorial has been established in Keith’s memory to the Imperial VFW Andrew Kinder Post #4688.
