Henry “Hank” Robert Mandeville, 81 years old, passed away on December 8, 2018 in Imperial, Nebraska.
Hank was born on August 11, 1937 in Mitchell, Nebraska and in 1955 he and his family moved to Merriman, Nebraska. After graduating from high school in Merriman, Hank joined the United States Navy. He served in the Navy from March 13, 1958 to February 16, 1962. He was stationed in Guam where he achieved the rank of Airman. He then moved to Los Angeles, California where he met Billie (Kathryn Lucas). They eloped to Las Vegas where they were married on November 23, 1962. After Los Angeles, they moved to Reno, Nevada where Hank was a custodian at the University of Nevada at Reno (UNR) for 26 years and 3 months. He retired on September 3, 1997.
He enjoyed fishing and camping with his grandchildren, friends and family. He also enjoyed buying and tinkering with gadgets of all sorts.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; stepson, Robert Gorrell and father, John Mandeville.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores Mandeville of Imperial
Sister, Ruth Olsen and husband, Dain of Potter, Nebraska
Brother, Jack Mandeville and wife, Tina of Imperial
Numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Memorial services will be Saturday morning, January 19th, 2019, 11:00 A.M. (MT) at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating. A private family inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
No viewing; Hank chose cremation.
In lieu of flowers; memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association of to a volunteer group of your choosing.
