Howard Jennings, 77, a former resident of Imperial passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Hilltop Haven Nursing Home in Gunter, TX. Howard was born to Ira and Elizabeth Gaumer Jennings in Decatur, KS on March 14, 1934. Howard attended high school at Decatur County High School.
Howard was united in marriage to his wife of 52 years, Betty Jane Jennings, on May 29, 1959. The couple settled in Oberlin, KS before moving to Imperial in 1972 where he worked at the Frenchman Valley COOP until his retirement. Texas has been home for the couple since 2006.
Howard served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Lutheran Churches in Oberlin, KS and Imperial, NE. He also enjoyed collecting coins and playing pool.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister Genevieve Warm, and a son Lynn Dean Jennings.
Survivors Include: Wife, Betty, of Gunter, TX Daughter: Lora Jane Rider and Husband, Steve, of Corinth, TX. Grandchildren: Dana Rider, Melissa Zackowski, Vanessa Rider, and Stacy Jennings. Great-Grandchildren: Trevor and Samantha Zackowski and Henrick Rider. Sister: Pauline Eaton and husband Glen. Brother: Clarence Jennings and wife Jeanne
Memorial Services for Howard Jennings will be held Saturday 10:30 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial, with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, NE
No Visitation, Howard Chose Cremation
