Janice L Large

Janice Louise (Nutt) Large was born November 16, 1958, in McCook, Nebraska, to Gary Wayne and Leona Agnes (Glaze) Nutt. Jan grew up in and near Curtis, Nebraska, and graduated from Medicine Valley High School in 1977.

On March 31, 1980, Jan married Dean Timothy Large in Curtis, Nebraska, and the couple settled in the Blanche community northeast of Imperial, Nebraska, where Jan spent the remaining years of her life. While living in the Imperial area, Jan was employed at Hill’s Family Foods and Chase County Schools.

Jan enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, baking/cooking, and sunflowers. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, teaching her grandchildren how to bake and cook in her kitchen. Family came first, everything she did was centered around her family. Jan was the rock of her family. She always made sure everyone had a hot meal – whether at 6:30 am. before school or in the field at 10:00 p.m. at night. She was the designated baker of cinnamon rolls and strawberry salad for every family holiday. Every niece and nephew can say that they celebrated a birthday with one of “Aunt Jan’s birthday cakes”. She was happiest spending time with her family, especially her 11 grandchildren.

Jan passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at her home in the Blanche community. She was 62 years of age.

Jan was preceded in death by her father Gary Nutt, mother-in-law Arlene Large, sister-in-law Sylvia Large, sister-in-law Sandra Large, nephew Derrick Nutt, and grandson Gavin White.

Survivors include: Husband: Dean Large of Wauneta, Nebraska.
Mother: Leona Nutt of Curtis, Nebraska.
Children: Krystal (Nathan) Einspahr of Ashland, Nebraska; Greg (Courtney) Large of Curtis, Nebraska; and Megan (James) McCrumb of Champion, Nebraska.
Grandchildren: Gabriel McCrumb, AJ McCrumb, Brittny White, Caidy McCrumb, Gregg White, Kooper Einspahr, Braxton White, Knox Einspahr, Kennedy Einspahr, Gentry White, and Kimber Large.
Father-in-law: Marvin Large of Wauneta, Nebraska.
Brothers: Dale (Susan) Nutt of Curtis, Nebraska; and Dean (Cathy) Nutt of North Platte, Nebraska.
Brothers and sisters-in-law: Joey (Myra) Large of Wauneta, Nebraska; Kevin Large of Hayes Center, Nebraska; Dale (Elisa) Large of Imperial, Nebraska; and Regina (Stuart) Pederson of Burrton, Kansas.

A celebration of life with family present will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 1, 2021, at 3:00-6:00 p.m. (MT), at the Wauneta Senior Center, Wauneta, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. (MT), at Zion Lutheran Church, Imperial, Nebraska, with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at the Blanche Cemetery in rural northeast Chase County, Nebraska.

As per Jan’s wishes, visitation will be private family only.

Memorials have been suggested to the Wauneta Senior Center, Wauneta, NE; the Rainbow Promise Preschool, Imperial, NE; and the Blanche Cemetery.
