Jean (Ham) Krug
Jean (Ham) Krug was born September 16, 1940, at the Benkelman Hospital to Lyle and Fern (Hardwick) Ham. Jean attended school in Benkelman graduating from Benkelman High School in 1958. She continued her education at Kearney State College.
On March 1, 1959, Jean married the love of her life, Henry M. Krug Jr. Three children blessed this union: Brenda, Steve, and Karey. The family made their home north of Benkelman, until retiring and moving to town.
Jean gave of herself in many areas of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, excelling in the farm business management with her husband, Henry. Jean was active in the Zion Lutheran Church and numerous community organizations of Benkelman. Spending time with her family and friends, attending Nebraska Cornhusker football games, traveling with her husband, and playing cards were just some of her favorite activities.
Jean faced many trials in her life with quiet endurance. She was a victim of early age polio and suffered Parkinson’s disease later in life.
Jean passed away surrounded by love on Monday night, October 28, 2019, at the Dundy County Hospital, Benkelman, NE. Jean was 79 years of age.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents.

Jean loved her husband and family like no other. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Friday morning, November 1, 2019, 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at the Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating. Interment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2019, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at the Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman.
A memorial has been suggested to the Dundy County Hospital Foundation.
