Joanne Lemm
Joanne Marie (Hoffman) Lemm was born June 1, 1947, in Tomah, Wisconsin, to Rosella Mary (Shie) and Kenneth Melvin Hoffman. As a young girl, Joanne grew up and attended school in Wisconsin, graduating from Central High School in Madison with the class of 1965.
On October 25, 1969, Joanne married Robert Eugene Lemm in Isle, Minnesota, and the couple first settled around the Mille Lacs Lake area. Joanne and Robert raised their family in Minnesota where they lived and worked in various locations including Onamia, Isle and Foley. While living in Minnesota, Joanne worked for several businesses as a waitress or cashier. In 2003 the couple moved to Parks, Nebraska, due to health reasons.
Joanne enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, playing pool and card games with family, and Scrabble (she had an amazing vocabulary!) She especially loved spending time with her family.
Joanne passed away January 4, 2023, at the Dundy County Hospital, Benkelman, Nebraska. She was 75 years of age.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; brother: Gerald; husband: Robert Eugene Lemm; son: Shawn Michael Lemm; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lloyd and Virginia Lemm; and nephew: Jason Hoffman.
Survivors include:
Son: Chris (Laurie) Hoffman of Milaca, MN.
Son: Robert Lemm of Parks, Nebraska.
Son: Brian Lemm of Parks, Nebraska.
Grandchildren: Michelle Hoffman and Rosie Lemm.
Brothers: Don Hoffman and Mike (Jan) Hoffman.
Sisters: Judy (Dave) Herring; Betty (Randy) Sullivan; Mary (Steve) Bruns; and Sue (Olin) Ladwig.
Following Joanne’s wishes, cremation was chosen with no visitation.
