Joe G. Stillwagoner was born November 23rd, 1929, to Thurman G. and Margaret (Longwell) Stillwagoner, at New Martinsville, West Virginia. As a young man he grew up in New Martinsville and graduated from Old Magnolia High School.

Joe married Phyllis Kay Bailey on June 20th, 1964, in Winterset, California, and the couple settled in Phoenix, AZ. Joe learned of Stratton, Nebraska, while visiting relatives of Phyllis and soon grew to love the area. Joe and Phyllis made their home in Stratton several years later. The couple did move to LaSalle, Colorado, following Joe’s employment, before making Stratton their permanent home.

Joe was a truck driver by trade, working for several different transportation companies. He was also employed at Miller Manufacturing in Stratton.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Joe passed away Sunday morning, August 14th, 2016, at his home in Stratton. He was 86 years of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, 8 siblings and daughter, Kendra Kay

Son: Joe Stillwagoner and wife, Jody, of Benkelman, NE
4 Grandchildren: Weslyn, Graeson, Kendra, and MeKenna
Brother: Richard and wife, Cindy, of Great Bend, KS
Sisters: Barbara Ann Oliver of Mt. Pleasant, W.V.
Nancy Moore of New Martinsville, W.V.
Special Nephew: Rick Stillwagoner and wife, Terry, of Proctor, W.V.

Graveside Inurnment services will be held Thursday morning, August 18th, 2016, 10:30 A.M. (Central Time) at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Stratton, Ne, with Pastor Richard Savage officiating.

A memorial has been established in Joe’s memory.
