John Karns
John Russell Karns was born August 31, 1946, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Lottie Ida (Wolf) and Kermit B. Karns. John graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1965 and on February 14, 1966, he was inducted into the United States Army. On June 22, 1966, John was honorably discharged from the Army, and he began a career as a machine operator for an electrical device manufacturer in Kansas City, MO.
John was a member of the North Cross Methodist Church where he assisted with many activities including acting as an usher for over 25 years. He participated in mission trips to Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Costa Rica with the church. John enjoyed bowling, winning many trophies, and music. He loved to sing and he had a beautiful voice.
John passed away July 7, 2022, at the Chase County Hospital, Imperial, Nebraska. He was 75 years of age.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Lottie and Kermit and his sister, Celia Spady.
Survivors include:
Brother: Richard (Dick) Karns and wife Loretta of Kearney, MO.
Niece: Cynthia Dahlkoetter and husband Dennis of Grant, NE.
Niece: Shannon Covarrubais and husband, Milo, of Liberty, Mo
Mark Spady and wife Michelle of Imperial, NE.
Nephew: Blaine Spady and wife Robin of Lincoln, NE.
Nephew: Chad Karns and wife Heather of Parkville, MO.
13 Great -nieces and nephews.
