Kathleen Tuttle, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in Max, Nebraska, at the age of 73. Born on March 26, 1951, in Pontiac, Michigan to James and Patricia (Johnson) Garrity, Kaye was a spirited individual who excelled in her role as a dedicated homemaker, finding immense joy in nurturing her family and creating lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Kaye's upbringing as a soldier's daughter granted her a unique childhood, filled with experiences as she moved across the United States and Western Europe, absorbing diverse cultures and attending various schools. Her rich life experiences molded her into the compassionate person she was, and she cherished the values of family and education deeply.
In August 1984, she tied the knot with her devoted husband, Robert “Bob” Tuttle, in Laramie, Wyoming, where they celebrated a beautiful partnership filled with love and laughter. Together, Kaye and Bob built a warm household that reflected her nurturing spirit and boundless affection for her family.
A passionate first-generation Star Trek fan, Kaye delighted in sharing her enthusiasm for the series with her loved ones. Beyond her love for science fiction, she engaged in a variety of hobbies and interests, including gardening, reading about history—particularly World War II—and exploring the world through virtual travel using Google Earth and YouTube. Her curiosity and zest for life were evident in her desire to learn and experience new things.
In her spiritual journey, Kaye became a Christian in 2014, which enriched her life significantly. She found great fulfillment in participating in Bible studies, attending church services, and engaging with online sermons whenever she was unable to attend in person. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her years.
Kaye is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Tuttle; her daughters, Darcy Tuttle and Julia Singer; her stepdaughters, Jennifer Bogart and Jacqui Tuttle; her stepson, J.T. Tuttle; and her cherished sisters, Genevieve Garrity, Laura Harding, and Mary Mason. Kaye leaves behind her 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
