Kim Silvester
Kim Lavern Silvester was born December 19th, 1951, to Arthur (Bill) L. and Oneta J. (Kimberling) Silvester. As a young man, Kim attended grade school in Champion and high school in Imperial, graduating from Chase County High School in 1970. He furthered his education by attending McCook Community College where he earned an Associate’s degree.
Kim married Lois Jane Heskett on February 14, 1976, in Imperial, NE and to this union four children were born: Katie, Charlie, John, and Mary. The couple made their home on the family farm near Champion, NE., where they have resided until present.
Kim was a member of the Plainsman Rifle and Pistol Club, Lifetime member of the NRA and a board member of the Christian Faith Outreach Church of Imperial. Kim enjoyed music and assisted countless times in singing and playing guitar for local funeral services as well as local bands. He and his family were the acting caretakers for the Crete Cemetery, near Champion. Kim especially loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Kim passed away Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was 64 years of age.

Daughter: Katie Adam and husband, Ben, of Kearney, NE
Son: Charlie Silvester and wife, Keri, of Denver, CO
Son: John Silvester and companion, Susan, of Hastings, NE
Daughter: Mary Veale and husband, Mark, of Kearney, NE
5 Grandchildren: Hayden Adam, Hannah Adam, Arthur Silvester, Wesley Silvester, and Joseph Veale
Brother: Kent Silvester and wife, Sandy of Imperial, NE
Sister: Kaylene Silvester of Champion, NE
Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Oneta, and sister; Kelli Silvester.
Memorial services will be held Friday morning, October 28th, 2016, 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at the Christian Faith Outreach Church of Imperial, with Pastor J.R. Kline officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Crete Cemetery, rural Champion, Nebraska.
No visitation, Kim chose cremation.
A memorial has been established in Kim’s memory.
