Larry Castle

Larry Wayne Castle was born January 4, 1963, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Elizabeth Kay (Fanning) and Merlin Leroy Castle. Larry grew up in Imperial where he attended school and graduated from Chase County High School with the class of 1981. Larry went on to further his education at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado.

In 1989 Larry married Susan Ann Tomky at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Imperial and to this union two daughters were born: Mindy and Dawn. Larry and Susan settled on a farm 15 miles north of Imperial. Larry was an avid farmer/rancher and he enjoyed the rural life. In his spare time Larry enjoyed carpentry work and woodworking projects. He especially loved spending time with his family and visiting with his friends.

Larry was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Imperial and the Knights of Columbus Council #7081 of Imperial, NE.

Larry passed away early Sunday morning, May 21, 2023, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial, NE. He was 60 years of age.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents: Vern & Velma Fanning and Mearl & Amy Castle.

Survivors include:
Parents: Merlin and Kay Castle of Imperial, NE.
Wife: Susan of rural Imperial, NE.
Daughters: Mindy Mansfield and husband Michael of Shawnee, KS.
Dawn Coughlen and husband Cheldon of Overland Park, KS.
Sister: Linda Berger and husband Jamie of Bradenton, FL.
Brother: Dale Castle of El Paso, TX.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday morning, May 26, 2023, 10:30 a.m. (MT), at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Imperial, NE, with Fr. Lothar Gilde celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.

Rosary and visitation will be held Thursday evening, May 25, 2023, 7:00 p.m. (MT), at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Imperial, NE.

A memorial, in Larry’s memory has been suggested to the Castle Family for a future designation.
