Leaveta Bremer
Leaveta Genevive Bremer was born to Ulysses and Eva (Bernard) Lines on March 26, 1924 in Hiawatha, Nebraska. She attended school in Chase County and graduated from high school in 1942.
Leaveta married Donal Bremer at the Imperial United Methodist Church. The couple settled on the farm north of Imperial. Leaveta or “Veats” as she was commonly known, worked at Adams Drug Store in Imperial for 38 years. She also taught school for one year and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and Willing Workers. When not working or volunteering her time, Leaveta enjoyed gardening, baking, working in her yard and taking care of her flowers.
Leaveta passed away Sunday evening, July 21, 2013 at the Fountain Springs Health Care Center in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was 89 years of age.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Donal in 1990, brothers: Lester, Virgil and Glen Lines; sisters-in-law: Arleen Kunnemann, Maxine Johnson, Wilda Lines, Irene Kunnemann and Delores Lines; brothers-in-law: Cleo Bremer and Frank Johnson.
Survivors include: Son, Jerry and wife, Jean Bremer of Rapid City, SD Brother, Leo and wife Bethene Lines of Imperial Sister-in-law, Darlene Lines of Imperial Brother –in-law, Orville “Corky” Kunneman of Imperial Grandchildren, Holly and Corey Bremer
Funeral services for Leaveta Bremer will be 10:00 A.M. (MT), Thursday, July 25th at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, July 24th, 2-6 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Leaveta’s memory.
