Marilyn Kay McCrumb was born to Albert and Irene (Jesse) Krausnick on December 27, 1938, in Imperial, Nebraska. She attended school in Wauneta, Nebraska; graduating with the class of 1956. Marilyn went on to attend one year of nursing school in Denver, Colorado, as well as working for Martin-Marietta where she met Alfred.
Marilyn was united in marriage to Alfred McCrumb on June 12, 1960 in the Mount Zion United Methodist Church of Wauneta. The couple moved to their farm, 14 miles south of Wauneta, where they lived until 1987. Marilyn kept busy with the normal routine of a farm wife, she also owned and operated the Corner Cupboard and was a school bus driver for the Wauneta School System for 44 years. No matter how busy Marilyn was, she always made time for her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved playing with.
Marilyn McCrumb passed away August 21, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 73 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Dale Krausnick and son; Jerry McCrumb.
Survivors include her husband Alfred of Wauneta; Daughter Sheila Cooley and Ron of Ogallala; grandchildren: Ryan and wife, Renea McCrumb, James and wife, Liz McCrumb, Steven McCrumb and Luke McCrumb; great-grandchildren: Ryleigh McCrumb, Trey McCrumb, Konner McCrumb, Kameran McCrumb, Gabriel McCrumb, Ashton McCrumb, Caidence McCrumb and Sydney McCrumb; sisters-in-law: Virginia Krausnick and Lillian McCrumb.
Funeral Services for Marilyn McCrumb will be held Saturday afternoon, August 25, 2012, 2:00 P.M. (MT) at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta, with Lay Pastor Melody Newman officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
Visitation will be held Friday afternoon, August 24, 2012, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Wauneta.
