Maye Pearl Kunnemann was born May 21, 1919, in Imperial, Nebraska, to John and Emma (Reichart) Weiss. Maye grew up and attended school in Imperial and on April 19, 1939, she married Clarence Kunnemann. To this union two children were born: Donna and Paul. The couple first settled on a farm in northwest Chase County where they lived until 1981 when they moved into Imperial. Maye moved to the Sunset Apartments in 2003 and later she moved into Imperial Heights Assisted Living.
Maye was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Willing Workers, Chase County Hospital Auxiliary, Birthday Club, Knitting Club and Zion Lutheran Church. Maye assisted Clarence on the farm as well as keeping her home. She enjoyed many hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, gardening, playing bingo and cards. She especially loved camping with family and friends. Maye passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 5th, 2015, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home. Maye was 96 years of age.
Maye was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; parents; brothers Reuben and Paul; and grandson Carl Bartels.

Daughter: Donna Bartels and husband Wayne of Enders, NE.
Son: Paul Kunnemann and wife Lorna of Imperial, NE.
4 Grandchildren: Sherri Burke, Carla (Greg) McKinney, Cyndi (John) Langenfeld, and Bobbie (Eric) Dittler.
11 Great-Grandchildren: Joshua (Courtney) Burke, Jacci (Garrett) Paisley, Michael McKinney, Emily (Jose) Zarate, Sarah McKinney, Jakob Burke, Coby Langenfeld, Cory Langenfeld, Katie Langenfeld, Chloe Dittler, and Larissa Thomlinson.

Funeral Services for Maye Kunnemann will be held Tuesday Morning, Dec. 8th, 2015, 10:30 A.M. (Mountain Time) at the Zion Lutheran Church, Imperial, with pastor David Kahle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, Dec. 7th, 2015, 2- 6:00 P.M. (Mountain Time) at the funeral home in Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Maye’s memory.
