MILDRED (MILLIE) LONG
Mildred Marie Long was born July 31, 1926, at Enders, Nebraska, to Theodore William and Susie Virginia (Herbert) Einsphar. She was baptized in Imperial on October 17, 1926. Millie attended school at Wauneta, Nebraska, through the 10th grade and finished her high school education with a GED.
Millie married Matthew Haskel (Bud) Long on May 15, 1943, at the Court House in McCook, Nebraska, and the couple settled in Wauneta where they made their home until present. Millie became a confirmed member of Redeemer Lutheran Church on December 31, 1948. She worked at the Wauneta Creamery, was employed as a cook at the Wauneta Plains Café, and worked for Ronald Action for several years. Millie enjoyed making quilts and had produced over 100 quilts for the Orphan Grain Train. Millie especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all knew where grandma’s cookie drawer was located.
Millie passed away Sunday afternoon, March 7, 2010, at the Chase County Community Hospital, Imperial, Nebraska. She was 83 years of age.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Susie, husband Bud, two brothers Richard and Robert, two grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held Friday Morning, March 12, 2010, 10:30 A.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta, with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon, March 11, 2010, 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. (MT) at the funeral home in Wauneta.
