Mina Caroline McKinney
Mina Caroline McKinney was born to Kenneth and Wava (Donovan) McKinney on October 12, 1939 in Wray, Colorado. She attended school in the Wray School District before graduating from Sunnyslope High School, Phoenix, Arizona with the class of 1958.
Mina was united in marriage to Robert D. Stith on July 7, 1958 in Raton, New Mexico. Many years later, she then married Sam Amendola of Wray, Colorado in 1967. Mina was a busy housewife, but also worked at Motorola in Scottsdale, Arizona and assisted her husband is his business.
Mina lived and worked with her friend and significant other, Archie Murray in Lamar, Nebraska for the last 17 years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, puzzles, playing cards and cooking. She possessed a deep love for animals, especially horses, traveling around the country and Canada and doing things for others.
Mina passed away at her home in Lamar, Nebraska on October 9, 2012. She was 72 years old.
Mina is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Dennis.
Survivors include her significant other Archie Murray of Lamar, NE; son Craig Stith and wife, Linda of Dodge City, KS; daughter Sherri Johnson and husband, George of Duncan, OK; daughter Cheryl Stith of Colby, KS; and son Charles McKinney of Salina, KS; grandchildren: Kyle Glassman and Daniel, Kendra and Austin Rogers; four great-grandchildren; brother Richard McKinney of Scottsdale, AZ and sister Ramona and husband, Terry also of Scottsdale, AZ.
A private family Memorial Service was held for Mina.
There was no visitation, as Mina chose cremation.
A Memorial has been established in Mina’s Memory.
