Mindi Goings
Mindi Leigh (Lemburg) Goings was born September 11, 1972, in St. Paul, Nebraska. She attended various schools in mid-Nebraska and graduated in 1991 from Chase County High School in Imperial. She attended McCook Community College and finished her education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1995. She was employed by Top Hat Furniture in Kearney when she met her husband Robert Goings. They were joined in marriage December 27, 1997 at the Broken Bow United Methodist Church. The Goings settled in Wauneta, Nebraska where Mindi was co-owner and employed as office manager for the family business, Advanced Automotive.
Mindi actively served her community as member and officer in Women of Wauneta, Wauneta EMS, and the board for the Wauneta Housing Authority.
She was passionate about her faith, family, friends, Husker Football, Nascar, playing cards, antiques, doll collecting, auctions, singing karaoke, and billiards. Later, she excelled at photography, winning awards and recording her ability to see beauty in her surroundings.
Mindi was preceded in death by her grandfathers, William H. Davis of Wood Lake, Gilbert Lemburg of Farwell, uncles, Dallas and Gary Lemburg also of Farwell, Nebraska, and Chad Davis of Kearney.
She is survived by her husband Robert, and his parents, Fred and Kay Goings of Wauneta. Her son, Gunner, daughter, GraCee, sister, RanDee Littrel, husband Jason, brothers, Branden Lemburg and wife Cara and Landon Lemburg and wife Ashley, all of Grand Island, and two grandmothers, Joyce Lemburg of Farwell, and Phyllis Davis of Ainsworth. Mindi passed away at home, June 17, at the age of 39. Funeral services will be held at the Wauneta Methodist church, June 23rd at 11:00 with internment at the Riverside Cemetery with the Reverends’ Bonnie McCord and Jonnie Walker officiating. Music selections include “You Raise Me Up” and Amazing Grace” by Melanie Miller, “In Your Arms” by recording artist Rachael Holder, and organ accompaniment by Diana Ham.
Mindi’s zeal for life and heartwarming smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial has been established in Mindi’s memory.
