PAMELA R. HANES
Pamela Ray (Bowers) Hanes was born January 11th, 1949, at Brush, Colorado to Raymond B. and Patricia J. (Hunt) Bowers. As a young lady, Pam, as she was known, grew up and attended school in Benkelman, NE, graduating from Benkelman High School in 1967.
Pam married James H. Hanes on June 10th, 1967, and to this union four children were born: Kristen, Julie, Jamie, and Lyndsay. The couple first settled in Lincoln, Nebraska, while Jim received his Bachelor‘s degree in Pharmacy. Pam and Jim then moved to Crisfield, Maryland, in 1971, where Jim began his career as a pharmacist. In1974 they made Imperial, NE, their home, and later became owners of Adams Drug Store.
Pam was employed at many different locals including unit clerk at Lincoln General Hospital in the early years. She earned her CNA and worked at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home for several years before becoming a member of the Frenchman Valley Practice, where she was involved in medical records. Pam then became co-owner of the Adams Drug Store of Imperial, in charge of retail sales.
Pam was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Imperial. She
enjoyed pottery, cooking, decorating, shopping, and music. Pam especially loved raising and caring for her flower garden. She was so very caring, loving, and selfless. Pam was always opening her door and heart to anyone in need. She truly had a heart of gold.
Pam passed away Saturday morning, September 15th, 2018, at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. She was 69 years of age.

9 Grandchildren: Vanseea Cox, Lucas Cox, Camille Cox, Madelynn Hanes,
Miles Hanes, Malcolm Hanes, Jaden Randall, Marley
Randall, and Emily Randall
Sister: Donna Dennis and husband, Dave, of California
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Patricia, Step-Mother; Martha Bowers, and sister; Sharon Lowe
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday morning, September 21, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Imperial, with Fr. Lothar Gilde officiating. Inurnment will follow at 3:30 P.M.in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, NE
A Rosary will be recited Thursday Evening, September 20, 2018, 7:00 P.M.at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Imperial.
No visitation, Pamela chose cremation.
A memorial has been suggested to the McCook Humane Society.
